Our Story
Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I have to apply?
Yes. Every student must complete the application process & interview process.

2. Is there an application fee?
There is a $150 nonrefundable fee for each individual application.

3. What is the tuition rate?
Yearly tuition is $13,500

4. What are the grade levels?
At this time, grade levels range from fourth grade to eighth grade. Depending on the need or demand, lower grade levels may be added in the future.

5. What scholarships do you accept?
We accept the McKay Scholarship & Step up up for Students. Information for these scholarships can be found at the Florida Department of Education website.

6. What are the school hours?
Students arrive between 8:40 & 9:00 a.m.

7. Does your school calendar match the public school?
With one or two exceptions, our calendar matches the public school calendar. This year we are in attendance for two dates the public school system if off for countywide faculty workshops. However, we are out the entire week of Thanksgiving while the public school system only has Thursday & Friday off.

8. How many days is a private school required to have?
Private schools are required to have 170 days in attendance.

9. Does my child need to have an IEP?
Not necessarily. To receive a McKay Scholarship, students must have an IEP or a 504 plan, but there are other scholarships that do not require an IEP to qualify. Step Up for Students is one such scholarship. There is always the option of private pay as well.

10. What is your attendance policy?
Attendance requirements are the same as public school, per Florida Department of
Education.

11. Is there a dress code policy?
At this time, we do not have a uniform policy. Dress code conforms to most school standards. We do not allow tank tops or spaghetti strap shirts & shorts must be at least fingertip length.

12. Do you have before & after school care?
We do not provide before or after care.

13. Can I stop by anytime to see the school?
No, the academy is not open to the public. Therapy Beat® is an outpatient clinic in addition to a school & are bound by HIPAA law to protect those children who are getting services.

If you want to meet with an administrator or instructor it must be by appointment only.


If you’re planning on enrolling in the fall of 2012, please find out if your child will be required to attend a summer preparatory program, beginning June 4th.
